Michelle holds a Law degree and an Arts (Music) degree from Sydney University. She also holds a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. She enjoys providing advice that helps to create productive and engaged workforces and profitable businesses.
Michelle has worked in a variety of legal and workplace relations advisory roles in private practice, in-house, and for a national industry association.
She advocated before a full bench of the Fair Work Commission as part of 4-yearly Award Review proceedings, contributing to wins on the part of employer groups in relation to Award Flexibility and Accident Make-Up Pay. She has also provided strategic advice on enterprise agreement negotiations, including to a multinational company as it bargained with four unions.
Michelle regularly represents employers in unfair dismissal, general protections, discrimination and underpayment claims. She also provides compliance advice in a straightforward and commercially practical manner that minimises the risk of legal claims.
Michelle was nominated as one of the Lawyer's Weekly "30 under 30" for Workplace Relations, Employment and Safety. She was also a finalist for the McCallum Medal for Employment Law and Industrial Relations.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys singing, playing music, dancing, learning foreign languages and travelling.
